Janice Walker is the Vice President of Corporate Communications for the US Postal Service. She assumed this role in 2015 after working for nearly 30 years in communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
As Vice President of Corporate Communications, Walker is responsible for all aspects of USPS’ internal and external communications. Simply put, she is the Postal Service’s liaison to the general public. She leads USPS’ efforts to advance public understanding of their products, services, and overall mission. Walker reports directly to Postmaster General Megan Brennan.
Janice Walker’s Background
Walker graduated from Washington College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies, and also studied in American University’s graduate program. Prior to joining the Postal Service, Walker spent more than 30 years working in corporate communications, nonprofit leadership, and public relations. She spent nearly two decades holding various communications positions at Fannie Mae in Washington, D.C., including director or Regional Communications and VP of News and Public Affairs. In addition, Walker served as VP of Corporate Communications for a financial services firm called First Marblehead Corporation, and even founded her own consulting firm that provided a wide range of communications services to companies of all sizes! That’s a pretty impressive resumé, if we do say so ourselves.
