Larry Munoz is Vice President of Pacific Area Operations for USPS. He assumed this role in February 2018, and has worked for the US Postal Service since 1986.
Duties and Responsibilities
As Vice President of Pacific Operations, Munoz reports to David Williams, USPS’ current Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Munoz manages an annual budget of $6.3 billion, and oversees postal operations such as mail processing, distribution, customer service, and administrative tasks for his region. Munoz’s designated region is enormous, stretching across thousands of miles of ocean. The Pacific Area includes California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Saipan and Rota. All in all, the Pacific Area encompasses over 67,000 employees who deliver 112 million letters and packages every single day!
Larry Munoz’s Background
Munoz began his postal career in 1986 as a distribution clerk in Van Nuys, CA. Since then, he has gone on to hold a variety of leadership positions within the organization. Prior to assuming his current role, Munoz worked as district manager of the Sierra Coastal District.Some of his former positions include manager of the Los Angeles Network Distribution Center, senior plant manager in Nevada-Sierra and Los Angeles, as well as area manager operations support for the entire Pacific Area. Munoz also served as district manager in the San Diego and Santa Ana districts.
