Cara Greene is Vice President, Controller for the US Postal Service. She assumed this role in March 2019 after an extensive corporate career in accounting and auditing.
Duties and Responsibilities
As Vice President, Controller, Greene reports to Joseph Corbett, USPS’ current Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. In her role, Greene is responsible for certifying financial filings as the Postal Service’s chief accounting officer. However, her duties extend much deeper than just that. Greene is also responsible for USPS’ external reporting, Corporate Accounting, Accounting Services, International Accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance, and Finance Business Solutions. In addition, she also oversees the Postal Service’s Corporate Audit and Response Management Group.
Cara Greene’s Background
Greene graduated with an accounting degree from York College of Pennsylvania. She is a certified public accountant, project management professional, internal auditor, and fraud examiner. Greene joined the Postal Service in 2016 as program manager, where she was responsible for external reporting. as Prior to joining USPS, Greene served as senior manager at FTI Consulting in Anapolis, Maryland. Before that, she worked at Arthur Anderson and Ernst and Young, where she managed audits, audit teams, as well as client relations. She was also responsible for employee development at E&Y, and even worked as an instructor of the firm’s national courses.
