Nominated by the Senate on August 1, 2019 after working in finance in both the public and private sectors, Ron Bloom is a recent addition to USPS’ Board of Governors.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the USPS Board of Governors, Bloom helps directs how USPS exercises its powers. The Board of Governors also monitors and controls expenditures, reviews practices, conducts long-range planning, approves officer compensation, and sets policies on all postal matters. Bloom now sits on the board alongside the six other governors. Those governors include chairman Robert Duncan, Megan Brennan, Ronald Stroman, David Williams, Roman Martinez IV, and John Barger.
Ron Bloom’s Background
Bloom earned his Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University, and then graduated from Harvard Business School. He began his career in investment banking before moving to the public sector. Bloom served in the Obama administration as Senior advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury and Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy. In 2011, Bloom joined the National Association of Letter Carriers as a financial advisor. He became Vice President of U.S. investment banking at Lazard the next year, where he worked on behalf of USPS. Bloom currently serves as Chairman and Managing Partner at Brookfield Asset Management in New York City.

Mr. Bloom, do the right thing and get rid of Louis DeJoy. We don’t need a HUGE DONATOR to Trump in there sabotaging our Postal system. YOU will also be held accountable and we will be looking into bringing you forth. Start looking for another position OUTSIDE the government if you don’t do right by the PEOPLE. I need my meds and my checks.
