The DYMO LabelWriter 4XL is a USB-connected printer that allows users to print large 4×6″ shipping labels, and is one of the most controversial label writers on the market.
Overview:
The LabelWriter 4XL is the exact definition of polarizing. Lots of users love it, and a seemingly equal amount hate it. Its 4×6″ labels makes it a nice option to pair with online shipping software. As with other 4×6″ printers, it gives users the ability to print both domestic and international labels containing customs forms. However, many attest that the printer malfunctions on a regular basis, and performs poorly when printing out a large batch. In addition, lots of users complain that DYMO’s tech support is spotty…or in some cases, totally unresponsive. Also, you need to buy DYMO’s proprietary large shipping labels if you want to use this printer. If you’re printing out hundreds or even thousands of labels, those proprietary labels can get pretty expensive.
All in all, the 4xL may look sleek, but it’s been known to provide owners with more headache than its worth. If you’re printing out large batches of shipping labels, you may do well to check out some other cheaper, more efficient options.
