Since USPS is a government-adjacent agency, Post Offices are closed on most major U.S. holidays. All USPS operations also shut down on those days, such as the delivery of mail and packages to residential addresses. However, FedEx and UPS may be open and operational on certain federal holidays when the Postal Service isn’t.
FedEx and UPS Are Open on Some Holidays When the Postal Service is Closed
The USPS website lists the schedule of the days USPS doesn’t deliver or operate as the following days:

- Easter Sunday (USPS is automatically closed on Sundays)

While FedEx and UPS observe most of the holidays that USPS does, they are open on some while USPS closes down its operations. Below, we have listed the days when FedEx and UPS are open while USPS is not:
