Gone are the days of waiting in line for forever at the Post Office! Nowadays, it’s incredibly easy and convenient to print postage at home. You’ll need a few things to get rocking and rolling. We’ve listed those below.

  • Computer
  • Internet connection
  • Scale
    • You’ll need a way to weigh your package. You can use a standard kitchen scale as long as it breaks down into pounds and ounces. However, if you want to ship like a pro, you should consider using a postage scale.
  • Ruler
    • You’ll need a way measure the dimensions of your package (height, width, and length). Any ruler or tape measurer should do the trick.
  • Printer

How Shipping Software Can Help

If you’re an eCommerce business owner, postage can easily become one of your biggest expenses. Therefore, you should always use shipping software to buy and print postage at home. Shipping software allows you to buy postage at discounts like Commercial Pricing, the deepest level of discounts that USPS typically only reserves for big commercial shippers. Get the best discounted USPS shipping rates to help your small business compete!

Our Recommendation: Pirate Ship

Most traditional shipping software offers Commercial Pricing rates. However, almost every single one will nickel and dime you with extra fees and rate markup. Pirate Ship is the only truly free USPS shipping software that offers access to Commercial Pricing rates with no markup or fees. That means you’re truly getting the deepest USPS discounts with them!

Pro Tip: Commercial Plus Pricing has a new name, simply “Commercial Pricing.” Don’t be confused; they still represent the same level of discounts!

Hi Ron, you need to have a valid United States address in order to print USPS shipping labels. You could always use the USPS Post Office across the border as your origin address if you need to ship something with USPS.
