The Brother QL-800 is Brother’s entry level and most affordable thermal printer, featuring USB connectivity and a maximum output of 93 labels per minute.
Overview:
The Brother QL-800 is the cheapest of the Brother 800-series printers, but don’t call it the runt of the litter. It prints labels at a pretty quick pace, with a maximum output of 93 labels per minute. Its interface is highly intuitive and easy to use, and setting it up is as quick as plugging it in and going. Hands down, the most attractive aspect of the QL-800 is the price point. Its low cost makes this label printer a favorite amongst eCommerce shippers on a shoestring budget. However, while the QL-800 is a great cost-effective option, it’s not the best. That comes down to one reason and one reason only: the lack of mobile capability.
In our opinion, wireless capability and mobile option is well worth it in this day and age. New computers and tablets lack USB ports, and these types of “hardwire” connections will soon be a thing of the past. So, if you’re going to invest in a label printer, you might as well do it the right way and spring for the Brother QL-810W. It’s double the price, sure, but you won’t be kicking yourself when you get that new computer or tablet without any USB ports.
