Who is Krista Finazzo?

Krista Finazzo is the current USPS Vice President of Retail and Delivery Operations for the Central Area. Finazzo has served as acting Vice President of the Central Area since August of 2020, and her appointment in December of 2020 officially cements her role in the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Vice President of Retail and Delivery Operations for the Central Area, Finazzo is responsible for the entire area’s operations. Such operations encompass overseeing retail service, delivery, customer service, and performing general administrative functions. The Central Area spans a 450,000 square-mile region that includes 10 states. It includes 33.6 million delivery points, over 8,100 facilities, roughly 109,000 employees, and an annual operating budget of more than $9 billion. USPS established the Central Area area during a major structural realignment announced in August under new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. The area now includes districts that were once part of the Eastern, Great Lakes and Western areas.

Krista Finazzo’s Background

Finazzo began her career with the Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1992. Prior to her current appointment, she served as district manager for the Greater Michigan district. She also worked in the product development division for Package Services. There, she helped design, develop, and deploy the Postal Service’s Parcel Return Service. In addition, Finazzo also served as customer advocate and customer relations executive manager, and later as chief of staff for the Postal Service’s Chief Operating Officer, where she developed the #PostalProud initiative.
