Duties and Responsibilities
As Vice President of Capital Metro Area Operations, Malone oversees operations such as mail processing, distribution, customer service, and administration throughout the entire Capital Metro Area. This area includes eight districts: Atlanta, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Greater South Carolina, Greensboro, Mid-Carolinas, Northern Virginia, and Richmond. These districts encompass more than 130,000 square miles, over 2,700 Post Offices, 63,000 plus employees, and nearly 16 million customers!
Linda Malone’s Background
Malone earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Delaware, and an MBA from Averett University. She began her postal career in 1985, working as a letter carrier in Wilmington, Delaware. Prior to assuming her current role, she served as Vice President of Network Operations. In this position, Malone managed the Postal Service’s entire distribution network. She also served in several other leadership positions before then, such as Processing Operations manager, district manager, senior plant manager, and manager of operations for Technical and Systems Integration Support.
