Pritha Mehra is Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President for the US Postal Service. She assumed this role in November 2020, and has worked for the Postal Service since 1990.
Duties and Responsibilities
In her role, Mehra oversees one of the world’s largest technology infrastructures with 5 national deployment and solution centers, 37,000 network locations, 20,000 servers, and more than 950 applications on more than 215,000 devices. All in all, this network processes more than 90 petabytes of data per year.
The following roles all report to Mehra: vice president of Technology Applications; vice president of Network & Compute Technology; director of IT Architecture & Strategy; manager of Enterprise Access Infrastructure; director of CIO Business Services; and manager of Integration & Support.
Mehra drives secure innovative capabilities and digital transformations to support the Postal Service’s mission to be the nation’s preferred delivery service. Her key strategies are to modernize platforms, prioritize security, and harness technology innovations to enable insightful business solutions. Mehra will modernize the CIO organization and talent to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive market environment.
Pritha Mehra’s Background
Mehra graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. She also holds a masters of business administration degree from Georgetown University. Mehra began her postal career in 1990 as a software developer in engineering. In that role, she developed applications to automate point-of-service systems and processes. Prior to assuming her current position, Mehra served as Vice President of Information Technology for USPS. She has also previously held a variety positions across different functions within the organization, such as Product Development, Strategic Marketing, Customer Relations, Engineering, and Research Development.
