Shaun Mossman is the former Vice President of Southern Area Operations for USPS. He assumed this role in February 2016 until Timothy Costello succeeded him in October of 2020. He worked for the Postal Service since 1987, when he began as a letter carrier.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the former Vice President of Southern Area Operations, Mossman reported to David Williams, the Postal Service’s current Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. In his role, Mossman oversaw daily postal operations such as mail processing, distribution, customer service, and more. He also managed an annual budget of over $10.5 billion. The Southern Area encompasses over 640,000 square miles, and processes more than 226 million pieces of mail a day. The states it includes are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, as well as parts of South Carolina and Georgia. The Southern Area generates a ton of cash for the Postal Service. In fact, it brought in over $10.9 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2018 alone!

Shaun Mossman’s Background

Mossman graduated with a degree in business administration from Strayer University. He began his decorated career in 1987 with the Postal Service as a letter carrier in Newport News, Virginia. Prior to assuming his current role, Mossman served as Vice President of Finances and Planning. In his time with USPS, he has also held a variety of leadership positions. Such roles include manager of Operations Support for the Western Area, district manager for Nevada-Sierra and Big Sky, Montana, and Operations Program Support manager for the Colorado/Wyoming district.

    I seem to write, call, and complain and no one seems to do anything. I have an on going issues with the Hurst P.O. Many issues, but the worse is I had a certified letter which was supposed to be derived Aug. 3,2020 and still have not received it and no one seems to help take care of my on going problems.
