Steven Monteith is the Chief Customer and Marketing Officer (CCMO) and Executive Vice President for the United States Postal Service. He is a 30-year veteran of USPS, and succeeded former CCMO Jacqueline Strako when he assumed his current role in November 2020.
Duties and Responsibilities
Steven Monteith is responsible for all corporate strategies and initiatives to increase revenue and contribution. Every year, his efforts help contribute to generating $73 billion in annual revenue. As CCMO and Executive Vice President, Monteith oversees five sectors within the USPS Customer and Marketing Office. We’ve listed those below:

Under Monteith’s direction, his teams have developed robust product and pricing strategies, and implemented a national launch of an omni-channel marketing platform. All in all, his main focus is to help USPS improve its customers’ experiences, and drive revenue. He leads all initiatives and strategies to help make USPS a more consumer-centric organization.
Steven Monteith’s Background
Monteith graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Colombia University, and obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Over 30 years ago, he started off with USPS as a management intern. From there, he went on to hold a variety of positions within USPS, such as manager of Pricing, manager of Transactions and Correspondence Mail, executive director of USPS’ Human Capital and Enterprise System, manager of Customer Service Systems Support, and manager of Marketing Analysis and Support.
Before assuming his current role, Monteith served as Marketing Vice President.
